Here is a source of informatin on the recent lithium ion batterys typed as A123 They have several advantages over lithium polymere batteries. But there are also some points in which the LiPo battery is better. A123 Racing is the company for whom they are manufactured.

These batteries are currently being use by DeWalt  in their 36 volt packs and by Black & Decker. With Black & Decker they are called VPX batteries and can be found in Wal Mart. I suspect that they can also be found in Lowe's but I haven't checked.

Here is a good source of information about wiring the electronics in your planes system. It includes wiring diagrams that are easy to read. It also includes methods to calculate speed, pictures as well as a wide range of other information that modlers can use in preparing their electric models for flight.
